If you can find a vantage point, do take the opportunity to look down onto Barcelona’s squares. They are often busy places, hemmed in by historic buildings; looking down from above provides a new perspective and presents the ideal opportunity to people watch in peace.
One of my favourite squares is Plaça del Pi, just off the Ramblas.
I particularly like the photos in black and white, as above, but the following one has to be in colour as it shows off the Catalan flag.

I agree, I love the black and whites, but the flag is wonderful – so colourful.

Liked the contrast of color vs B&W. Think I prefer the latter. Well done

These photos brought back lovely memories of visiting my sister when she lived in Barcelona: many hours spent sitting in the squares, watching all the activity and just enjoying the atmosphere. These are truly lovely spaces to spend time in.

Love Barca. Have started to grow more and more fond of the beach/port Olimpic area. But love the whole city!

My great grandfather came from Barcelona and spoke Catalan. Thanks for the glimpse of his home town.
