Since sponsorship of the lights crept in, the lights on Oxford Street and Regents Street have become less attractive. To find the best lights, you now need to seek out the smaller streets.
Carnaby Street is resplendent with chubby, red-breasted robins and is my absolute favourite this year.
A small selection of other London lights (hover over any picture to find its location).
Linked to Ruby Tuesday.

Carnaby Street is fun, this year. While I agree about the trend for both Oxford and Regent Streets, I found Oxford Street, this year, to be the most tasteful in years; a phenomenon I put down to budgetary constraints. A proverbial silver lining, so to speak.
Great blog, by the way; keep up the good work.

Thank you!
Yes more is less as far as Oxford Street goes.

The picture my post http://geriatrixfotogallerie.wordpress.com/2013/12/12/looking-down/ a few days ago is from Carnababy Street a few years back. The robins from this year are very cute!

Happy to oblige! You’ve a few days left 🙂 but if the weather stays like this, you are much better just looking at photos.

It’s pretty foul out there! The wind is really howling through the windows and the extraction fan in the bathroom. It’s spooking the cats out so they keep leaping all over the bed!
