I spotted these colourful little fellas in a shop in Brussels.
They are, of course, multi-coloured versions of the famous Brussels landmark, the Manneken Pis (which translates as Little Man Pee in Marols, a Dutch dialect spoken in Brussels, and is also known in French as le Petit Julien).
The real thing is a small bronze fountain sculpture depicting a naked little boy urinating into the fountain’s basin. It was designed by Hiëronymus Duquesnoy the Elder and erected in the early seventeenth century.

So cute and they are so proud they can do it!! No more nappies…yayyyy ….well, that is what it says to me, anyway – being the grandmother of a little boy.Happy New Year to you and thank you for being part of Mandarin Orange Monday:))

That’s a great interpretation – I shall think of that every time I see the Manneken Pis now! Happy New Year!

Interesting to learn the history of this little fellow. He is certainly world renowned. We have one on one of our Lake Channes who pees into the channel as you go by in your boat … bet the artist didn’t realize what he was starting 🙂

I’m pretty sure the chocolates were safe. I have seen them pissing into beer, mind you, and that’s as bad in my view!
