This flirtatious giraffe is one of two sculptures by Josep Granyer i Giralt (1899-1983) that grace Barcelona’s Rambla de Catalunya. This one is La girafa coqueta or “Coquettish Giraffe”; the other will be featured next week.

This giraffe intrigues me. I have often posed like this and my wife ignores me just as those passing by are doing. I would love to have this giraffe on my front lawn. That would really antagonize my next door neighbor!
