Every Thursday, I publish a post containing photo(s) taken from above or below, and invite you to join in the challenge by posting your own photos with an up or down perspective.

Last week I took a brisk walk (it was too chilly to dawdle) around the Ixelles and Etterbeek areas of Brussels to admire the Art Nouveau façades. To my surprise and delight I came across this towering water tank.

The base is hidden behind a high wall but if you look up you will see the pavilion that houses the controls of this nineteenth century tank.
The tank is not normally accessible to members of the public, but it participated in the Brussels Heritage Days in 2012. I’ll be watching for the 2014 program in the hope of getting inside.
In the meantime the best I can offer is this satellite view from Google.

A nineteenth century tank! Awesome! It looks beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! I just loved it! Amprotec.net also deals with water storage tanks and transports them throughout the world. Find different types of water tanks here! But the tank you showed us is just wow!

I like any kind of tower – and there are not that many square ones around – so this is a great find:)
