Q is for… Quantum Gravity

I was happy to be asked for permission to use one of my photos to illustrate a piece about Quantum Gravity for a conference on the topic.

Quantum Gravity is defined in Collins dictionary as “a theory of the gravitational interaction that involves quantum mechanics to explain the force”. If you want to know more, try clicking here.

I couldn’t imagine which of my travel photos had appealed to them for such a complex and cutting edge topic – though they did admit it’s a tricky topic to illustrate – almost as difficult as finding a topic for the Q letter of an alphabet challenge!

It turned out they wanted to use one of my favorite photos from one of my favourite places, Marseille

MUCEM in Marseille

Whatever your interests, from architecture to food and wine to zoo animals I highly recommend a trip to Marseille. It relishes in a heady mix of cultures, of languages, of old and new.  MUCEM is just one example of a striking new architectural addition to a city that likes to be at the forefront of change.  The bulk of the museum is hidden beneath a veil of what looks like lacy metal but is in fact black painted concrete.
