The long, long awaited trams in Edinburgh are almost here. They are running empty at the moment in a testing phase, but will open to the public on 31 May this year.
The single route, from the airport to city centre will be integrated with the existing excellent Lothian buses and the full journey is expected to take about 35 minutes.
They look very smart in their dark red livery as they trundle up and down the line, quietly tooting as they go. I’m certainly looking forward to taking a ride on my next trip.

Nice one for the challenge, Debs 🙂 I love trams! Rode on lots of them in Krakow. Don’t know when I’ll get to Edinburgh again.

I’ve never been to Krakow. I’ve been to Warsaw a couple of times but would love to see Krakow. I have to get back to Edinburgh soon as I ran out of time to do all the things I wanted, including a side trip to Glasgow. Not sure when I’m going to fit it in though
