I don’t know exactly. This was a few months ago and would have been something to do with job losses somewhere I think. I have been in Madrid three times this year and there hasn’t been a day when I haven’t seen a demonstration. Mainly small ones. This one was pretty big and I stayed out of the wsy!
Indeed. I wouldn’t say I’m always the most street wise – I tend to expect the best to happen, not the worst – but on this occasion I had already seen the police in significant numbers so I stayed in teh Botanical Gardens, protected by that huge fence!
