I have been up the Eiffel Tower many times but never at night before. And never in rain and high winds before.
The views were spectacular, the photography conditions were not so good. Juggling tripod and umbrella proved a challenge.
And French privacy rules make street photography difficult these days.

Still, it shows your experience and I love the umbrella scene♪ http://lauriekazmierczak.com/recharging/

Yes, I was really pleased with the resulting photos.

Privacy rules makes for more creative photos, methinks. I like your photo of the reflection of red. Very nice!

The Effiel tower really looks very different in the rain. I haven’t been there for ages and would be nice to revisit this place in France.

Nice picture, in the rain at that. I’ve been to the Eifel for both day and night, I like day better. We haven’t been bothered much ever by rain in Paris. Just light drizzles for us at the worst. I plan on France later in the Spring this year but may bypass Paris. Not much new there, mainly we would just hang out.
A few pictures from our last visit, we went over (from London) to cheer on our daughter running in the Paris Marathon: http://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/2012/09/my-alphabe-thursday-p-things-in-row-two.html

I think that’s what Paris was made for – hanging out 🙂
I love the city more each time I go. My current fave areas or Le Marais and the Canal st Martin. The Picasso museum has reopened so I need to get back for that and I want to do a side trip to Giverney… Looks like I won’t be doing that much “hanging” when I next get there!

A wonderful share and the rain would be better without the wind. We are expected to get some rain tonight. Enjoy and be safe.

You’re right there – the wind was a real problem

do they still sell little models? In the 50s, my Dad went there and bought some to give to relatives. Our own was long goNE. They were good metal ones.

Oh that first shot is beautiful, I’ve been there in the daytime.

I’m always fascinated by the rivets on the Eiffel Tower and I see now that they are a good place to shelter by.

Indeed. There was no getting near the edge unless very well dressed and not carrying a camera!

Sometimes the best photos of people are ones that don’t show their faces, such as the ones you took. Taking photos on a rainy night in Paris would be a highlight in my book.

It was fun, but I could have done without the wind!

What ARE the French photo rules?

Yeah I can see you – tripod, umbrella, camera, as well as keeping your balance in the wind …you probably also had a bag or purse with you!

A huge camera bag! I could only take photos on one side of the Tower – I’d have been blown away on the other side! The top was closed because of the wind – very disappointing for those on their first and maybe only visit.
