-Look Up, Look Down Challenge, Week 65
Every Thursday, I publish a post containing photo(s) taken from above or below, and invite you to join in the challenge by posting your own photos with an up or down perspective.

I’ve been back in Madrid briefly this week and I’ll no doubt have some photos to share over the coming days. The architecture of the buildings on the Gran Via is always a delight to me. The buildings are mostly topped with ornate art deco embellishments – combine that with a blue sky backdrop and it’s hard not to look up constantly (and yes, I have fallen over once because I wasn’t looking where I was going!)
Today, however, I’m sharing a stunning view down onto the city.
To experience this view for yourself, take the lift to the 9th floor cafe in El Corte Ingles on Callao. There is a very pleasant food court up here, with some outdoor seating, and the views are stunning. There’s no pressure to eat or drink, but it’s a good place to rest your feet and relax your mind.
El Corte Inglés, Plaza de Callao 2. Free.

Yes, Christmas would seem strange without city lights. But you’ll have family close to make up for it

Me too. I carry my tripod a lot though I didn’t have it on me for this one.
