I was recently in Italy and couldn’t get over the ornate and beautiful buildings. One that stood out had gargoyles and turrets etc. when we asked our guide what it was she said – “the police station.” Sigh, now I’m home with boring buildings.
A police station! Funnily enough, last night I was marvelling at a building in Manchester that had tall arched windows and gargoyles galore. Turned out to be the Courts of Justice.

They are unusual buildings – perhaps old warehouses
