-Look Up, Look Down Challenge, Week 90
Every Thursday, I publish a post containing photos taken from above or below, and invite you to join in the challenge by posting your own images with an up or down perspective.

There’s no need to don your walking boots to visit Salzburg Castle; there’s a handy funicular from the Old Town.
During castle opening hours you buy a combined funicular and castle entry ticket. You can also ride the funicular in the evening, when the castle has closed, for just the price of the ride.
The castle grounds are fun to explore, with great views over Salzburg (weather dependent, mind you!)
There are also free guided tours of the interior of the castle. You get a grumpy minder to lead the way and you use the audio guide to get information on what you are seeing. I found it be a very dissatisfying tour. The grumpy guide was very grumpy and tried to hurry us around as quickly as possible. Even at the top where I would like have stood and admired the views, despite the grim weather, he was constantly trying to move me along. And why was he in such a hurry? It seemed that he just wanted to get back inside to chat with his mates – there certainly wasn’t another tour waiting for him.

Great view. Thank god for the internet, all the information is there for you to discover later even/when when the guide is grumpy and in hurry.

Oh you’re messing with my head with the two first ones:):) I remember Salzburg to be delightful, but we didn’t go to the castle – so it’s nice to see some views here!

Sorry! I know the 2nd one is a bit odd. Strange even to me and I saw the original!

We didn’t go up to the castle, should have.
Worst guide we had – at the Roman Baths in Bath.

Ah, there’s nothing like a funicular (or funny peculiar, as we used to call them!)
