This unpresumptuous bench looks quite ordinary at first glance, but the dragonfly detail is delicately engraved. It celebrates the hard work of the Dragonfly Project, which is now based at Wicken Fen in Cambridgeshire. You can sit here beside a quiet pond and enjoy the antics of the real dragonflies. You’ll find this spot easily as it is between the car park and the National Trust Visitor Centre at Wicken Fen.

Such a nice bench! Simple but very beautiful 🙂

I shall be near Wicken Fen later in the week, maybe I shall have time for a visit. It has been too long. Lovely detail.

I was expecting this to be on the back of the bench. What a pleasant surprise to see it on the seat – possibly beside you as you watch the real ones frolicking.
