Inviting Curtains on the Riverside

In summer, strips of plastic brought a bright pavilion to the front of the Royal Festival Hall.  Known as Arcadia, it was designed by PolyLester (Gabriel Lester and Martine Vledder), an Amsterdam based art and design studio.

These unusual see through curtains were hugely popular and had the happy side effect of casting some great shadows when the sun obliged.

  1. Very cool – outdoors like that – and art like this makes life more fun. They also remind me of some plastic curtains and door covers that ikea sold about ten years ago – but they were all indoor – anyhow – I like the series of pics u give us to get a feel for how these felt
