The highly recognised face of Martin Luther King Jr. (1929–1968) seemed a great background to a small musical group who entertained the crowds in Ljubljana. A good combination of a famous face and one who probably seeks fame.
I can find no record of who created this vibrant mural, but it appeared some time between September 2013 and October 2014. It is located on Hribarjevo Nabrežje close to Cobbler’s Bridge.

The text here that I believe is part of the original mural design relate well to the work of the Nobel Peace winner and human rights leader: “Moč besed” means “the power of words”, and “Govori ljubezen” means “speak love”.

your first shot led me to think that mural was by CASE…the second one suggests that it isn’t

Hi Tom, There is a scrawl that may be a signature of something like Ilojon or Hojon, but it means nothing to me.

Such a great capture – the whole vibe is so good with the rich street art of a Special man and then artsy musicians! 💜💚💜

Wow, this is incredible. Thanks for sharing it. Dr. King was/is my main “teacher” and my husband is a musician so I am deeply touched by this picture.

yep. We could use more like him these days. I wrote about my experience with him on his birthday. https://chosenperspectives.wordpress.com/2016/01/19/dr-martin-luther-king-part-2/
It’s long (two parts) but the first time I ever told the story.
