A colourful note: laser lemon landed in Crayola world in 1990. Strangely enough, this was another crayon in disguise! Exactly the same colour formulation had been a Crayola crayon since 1972, under the name chartreuse. Laser lemon still exists, but its duplicate predecessor retired in 2003.

I love the way you trace the history of the colours you find every day!

When I was very young, among the liquors my parents kept at home, I used to see one, called “chartreuse ” …
I never tasted it , nor I know if it’s still available , but what I recall was the colour of the liquor: this very yellow!
Thanks, Debbie!

How interesting. I’m pretty sure it still exists but I’ve never had it either, and I certainly didn’t know it was yellow!
