St Paul’s Cathedral, London, September 2015
At 111 metres in height, the current St Paul’s Cathedral was the tallest building in London from 1710 to 1962, when it was overtaken by the Post Office tower (now known as the BT Tower).
In fact, the Old St Paul’s Cathedral was the first structure in London to exceed a height of 100 metres. It was completed in 1310, at a height of 150 metres, making it the world’s tallest structure until 1311, when it was surpassed by Lincoln Cathedral. Amazingly, it regained the world’s height title in 1549 when Lincoln Cathedral lost its spire!

Ah, so obvious to me!! Didn’t think to mention them
There was a street entertainer blowing bubbles on the South Bank and, obligingly, they passed between my camera and the Cathedral!!

Interesting photo and information. Were you blowing bubbles?

No, a young man was entertaining all the kids along the Thames. And me too.
But now you say that, it would be a fun way of adding to my photos going forward!

I had that little snippet of information sitting in a draft post for ages and your theme prompted me to get on with writing it! ☺

I love the bubbles in your shot. They add not only a sense of whimsy, but a weird feeling of size disconnect.
