Water lilies at Kew Gardens, London,  February 2016

I always enjoy the leaves of water lilies as much as the flowers, and the leaves actually serve a very useful purpose, providing shade for those below and reduce the growth of algae.

A colourful note:  red violet made its Crayola appearance in 1930, a busy year at the crayon company, including design changes as well as colour additions and removals.  Red violet was a clearly new colour, sitting nicely between the two named colour groups, and they added blue violet too.

  1. Gorgeous. There is a Kew Gardens in the Queens section of New York. And I grew up in St. Albans, the one located in Queens, New York City. Seems that many neighborhoods in New York have the same names as the ones in your hometown.

    • I was surprised to hear that there was a St Albans over there, but then he is a famous martyr. And I didn’t know about Kew

      Happy Easter!
