This quaint building with devil-like grotesques and welcoming aqua-coloured doors rests on the pink granite coast of Brittany, between the village and the lighthouse of Ploumanac’h.
I believe the cheeky grotesques that adorn the roof, are one of the Breton races of little people. These 900-year-old Korrigans are bearded natives who flaunt their pointed ears, and stomp their hooves during their nightly dances around fires along the coastline.

I’d love to get to Brittany one day. We were blessed to get to Normandy to visit Omaha Beach and the surrounding areas a few years ago. My f-i-l landed there on D-Day, so it was a special time.
Love the shot.

I’d like to get to that part of Normandy as my dad was there in WW2.

This building is temple-like. Were you able to go in? Or, is it part of a wall and this is an entryway? Very intriguing sitting out there all alone…

I assumed it was a small chapel but I’ve seen a photo that says it’s a false chapel. So can’t tell you much about it.
But it’s on a well-walked coastal path, close to a gorgeous lighthouse.
I can’t recommend the Brittany coastline highly enough – simply gorgeous

Ah a lovely spot – Bretagne is on my list:) Somehow that area spekas to me, maybe also because of the World War II stories. Have a great weekend!
You are missed at ALL SEASONS (a small name change) – so i’ll try to remember, to send you a reminder on Saturday:)

What a lovely find, you have to wonder why it’s “just” there, who built it, but they picked a stunning place!

It rang a bell in me, and I checked my hard disk. I have seen this little chapel in 2009. The sunshine is missing on my pictures.

This was my last morning in Brittany – I got up early and dashed out for a stroll along the coastal path and the sun was kind that morning. Isn’t this a gorgeous part of France!

What a lovely find. Looks to be in a bit of an isolated spot which just adds to its charm.

It is in a gorgeous setting, right on the rocky coast. But not as truly remote as it looks.

I don’t know for sure – they look devilish to me. It was them that made the building appeal to me and my camera
