St Alban’s Abbey, Hertfordshire, January 2017
Today, the last day of January, is grey and wet, but that will not deter me from showing how beautiful most of the month was. We truly had copious amounts of sun with its accompanying long shadows; shapely clouds; photogenic mist; crisp frost and icy surfaces; and even a tiny bit of glistening snow.

my favourite four trees!

and my favourite round tree!

Beautiful Debbie! I haven’t been up to St Albans in ages. The Abbey looks lovely with the snow and I love those four trees too 🙂

Great place for a visit on a sunny day – a stroll around the Roman walls gazing at the Abbey is restful

It’s a lovely place! Only ever went up there to visit the headquarters of my charity but I loved the town and all the history 🙂

And there’s the RHS Gardens here too – a short trundle from my house

A lovely stroll through the month!

There were plenty of those this month.
It was a quiet month for meetings and travel so local walks were my main exercise
That changes completely next month!

I think this month gave me my best shots of St Albans. I think the fact that it changed quite noticeably from day to day, inspired me
