Brooklyn Brewery, Williamsburg, New York, February 2017
My first trip to the US was in the mid-1980s. I adored the place but was disappointed with the choice of beer! Seemingly, t was all Sol and Budweiser – not much taste compared with a good British ale. However, my first trip to New York in 2010 (how did it take me that long to get there) brought me a big choice on the beer front, and my first discovery was Brooklyn Lager.
On my visit to the city last week, my first couple of nights were in a great hotel right opposite the Brooklyn Brewery. And yes, I tried a few of their offerings! The black lager, known as Insulated Dark, was my favourite.

A colourful note: the use of forest green as an English colour term dates back as far as 1810 and Wikipedia tells me that is a representation of the average colour of the leaves of the trees of a temperate zone deciduous forest.
As a crayon it is older than me! It became a Crayola colour in 1957.

Good for you. 🙂 Although German, I’m not a beer drinker. Wine is fine.
