A colourful note:  this pale blue-lilac shade, known as periwinkle, is named after the flowers of the lesser periwinkle or myrtle herb.

The first recorded use of periwinkle as a colour name in English was in 1895.  It appeared as a Crayola crayon in 1958 and is still in existence.
