The ex-Beresford Hotel, Glasgow, July 2018
This ex-hotel on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow opened in 1938, and was known as Glasgow’s first skyscraper, being the tallest building erected in Glasgow between the two world wars.

Since its hey days during the Empire Exhibition, the hotel became popular with American servicemen during World War 2, became a students’ hall of residence in 1964 and now contains privately-owned apartments.
This striking example of Art Deco is showing its age, but is protected as a category B listed building.

Never actually seen this building, mind you don’t go as far as Sauchiehall Street that much when I visit the city. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Such a fine building! I’m so glad it’s being used rather than demolished.
