Not many I know have been in Guang Zhou! Beautiful symmetry in our reflection. Did you also go to the big street market? It’s “a few streets” big. The only place we found home made ice cream:)

No, I went into many small street markets as I wandered but not a huge one. I know there was one north of Shamian Island (the island that used to be half French and English) so that may be the one you mean. When were you in Guangzhou Jesh? I don’t think it is on many tourist routes but it’s a major business city, and there is now a high speed train there from Hong Kong – 50 minutes!

I would have to check with my son, because he wanted to go there, but I don’t think it was on an island. With huge I mean talking up a lot of space, but it looks like a normal street market, until you discover, that it’s another, and another street., etc.
Since we only had a week on the mainland, we didn’t even touch Hong Kong. Was more interested in the indigenous culture.

What a lovely photo, Debs! I’m sitting in an old world pub in Pickering, North Yorkshire. Couldn’t be more different 😃😃
