Times Square, New York, February 2017
Times Square might have its name because of the name of a newspaper, but there are still a few ways to tell the time of day. There’s a colourful digital clock, but there’s also a huge four-faced clock at the top of the Paramount Building, beneath its striking glass globe. The hours on its faces are denoted by twelve five-pointed stars instead of by numbers, with these symbols forming a circle of stars that matches the Paramount Pictures logo. During World War II, the clock face, and the globe, were painted black to maintain blackout conditions. It remained that way until 1996 but is now back in its full cinematic glory.

Excellent photo! I’ve been to Times Square and was so sorry that I didn’t take a picture because I thought it would have been perfect for this challenge. 🙂
