An interior lagoon of salt water at Dwejra Point is connected to the open sea through a narrow archway.

In calm weather, small boats take visitors through the tunnel into the Mediterranean to sea the cliffs and the spot where the towering arch of the Azure Window used to stand.

Boat houses and a cafe or two line the banks of the lagoon.
