Taste is the enemy of creativity

“Ah, good taste! What a dreadful thing! Taste is the enemy of creativeness.”

It’s time for my weekly quotation-inspired image. If the quote inspires a pictorial or wordy post from you, do feel free to link in or to pop your URL in the comments.

And to read a bit more about the Catalan caganers, you can pop over to this old post

  1. Well, I never knew…. And as someone once said to me (not in quite these words), shitting is a great leveller….someone may put on all sorts of airs and graces, but they have the same basic bodily functions!!

  2. These catagners are delightful, Debbie. Thanks for the prompt and the photos. I am in a running/drinking group in Frankfurt called S.H.I.T.S. (=Saturday Hash* in the Summer) and one of these little figures is definitely going to become our patron saint. It also means I have probably more than enough material for this challenge.

*Hash = Hash House Harriers, it’s a world wide running group where running is combined with social gatherings (and a lot of completely tasteless shenanigans)

    1. Ha ha! A perfect theme for you, indeed!
Sounds like you need a team visit to Barcelona to chose your mascot caganer. They’ve extended way beyond christmas and pop in shops and markets everywhere – any character you can think of will appear in squatting position.
