When I was young, all I wanted was horses and dogs (and books) and wanted to become an author or vet. My parents gave in on the horse front, and I then waited until my 30s to have a dog.

My busy life of work and travel, doesn’t allow me to have a pet of my own, but I borrow whenever I can. And I work hard to send my sister on world travels so that I can babysit her cockapoo.

Look who I travelled Devon with this year and last year:

And here’s a step back in time, to my daughter and our dog in the very early 2000s, and me and my pony in the early 1970s.

  1. How I love these photos, Debbie! You and your daughter, dog and pony. Precious images! I don’t have many of myself as a young girl. My family was not the photographing kind. Love that cockapoo on the beach.

  2. A wonderful family history, Debbie, through your love of your pets. The shots of the cockapoo at the beach are marvelous. So are your shots of you and your daughter. I love these snapshots in time!
