When I was young, all I wanted was horses and dogs (and books) and wanted to become an author or vet. My parents gave in on the horse front, and I then waited until my 30s to have a dog.
My busy life of work and travel, doesn’t allow me to have a pet of my own, but I borrow whenever I can. And I work hard to send my sister on world travels so that I can babysit her cockapoo.
Look who I travelled Devon with this year and last year:
And here’s a step back in time, to my daughter and our dog in the very early 2000s, and me and my pony in the early 1970s.

Oh gosh, when I was younger I wanted ALL the animals, haha. I fell madly in love with horses but never had one. We did always have cats though. Guess that’s why I’m obsessed with them now!
Your pictures are all quite lovely and I love the cockapoo!

How I love these photos, Debbie! You and your daughter, dog and pony. Precious images! I don’t have many of myself as a young girl. My family was not the photographing kind. Love that cockapoo on the beach.
