
Torre Agbar, Barcelona, June 2019
The Torre Agbar, or Torre Glories, always reminds me of London’s Gherkin from the distance. Its design is said to have been inspired by a water geyser and mountains, not vegetables. It has, of course, acquired a few nicknames, all more phallic than pickled.

For me the associations are more martial than anything else, it looks like a bomb (literally, not figuratively) – an impression intensified through the angle of your photo.
