I love the Water of Leith and this is a great little spot where the Union Canal passes over the top of the Water, passing along the mighty Slateford Aqueduct, with a view to the railway bridge beyond.

What a long way to the end of this bridge,

It was quite amusing – a friend had told me to wander along the canal and eventually I’d spot the aqueduct. What he hadn’t appreciated, was that finding the aqueduct meant I would be walking along it, as it carries the canal!
