Inside Rotterdam’s Markthal, January 2020

The work of artists Arno Coenen and Iris Roskam
If you look up at the ceiling in Rotterdam’s Markthal, you’ll see that the Milky Way has swapped its stars for fruit and vegetables. This massive digital mural covers the 11,000 square metres of the market’s arched ceiling and melds perfectly with the friendly, foody atmosphere below.

It was a challenging theme last week, so thanks to everyone who brought us something olympic. Big thanks go to David for a great photographic angle on the theme; to Janet with a lovely image and a great personal story behind it; and to Tom who stretched the theme in a bright and creative manner.
If you didn’t have chance to check them out, the links are below.

Next week’s theme will be umbrella.

The wind was the hardest thing to contend with. I kept feeling the need to brace myself against the parapet for fear of getting blown off.

There’s a big danger our wish lists are going to expand massively in the next months, but definitely keep Rotterdam near the top, Jackie. A friendly and fun city.

It’s still not showing up in the reader tab of the WordPress app on this tablet. Every time they update the app they seem to add more bugs. I’ve noticed posts suddenly appearing a day or more after they were posted.

You’re early tonight (today), but wow, what images you shared!! Love them. But don’t get hit by one of those veggies or carried away by a butterfly.
See you soon and thanks for the mention. 🙂 Always appreciated. Happy Sunday.

Yes, I had a very late night – collecting my daughter from London so that she didn’t have to use public transport. So I though I’s post early and make sure it looked ok before I collapsed in bed.
And a very Happy Sunday to you too, Janet
