Low tide at Mont St Michel

View along the River Couesnon to Mont St Michel, France, July 2020

There is always some water to be found around Mont St Michel, even when tides are low. The dam on the River Couesnon provides a great view to Mont St Michel, and also acts a silt remover from the bay. It traps the waters at high tide and then releases them at speed at low tide.

  1. So awesome you captured that! I read about the monastery going through renovations a few years ago. It is a beautiful site that I would love to see in person one day. 🙂
