The yarn bomb Christmas trail has returned to St Albans this Christmas. The decorated postboxes are sponsored by local companies, and the yarn bombs are made by talented locals. The public download the app and scan in the QR code of each box they find, which rewards them with an entry into a prize draw.
The trail provides added fun in the advent period, and with 50 boxes decorated there are plenty to keep us going. As a thank you for this fun, it is hoped that everyone makes a donation, with money raised being shared between a number of local charities.

I hadn’t though of that – the postbox comes up to my shoulders. When I get a chance, I’ll take photos with something to set perspective 🙂

I like these handmade items – my cousin just gave me towels with the yarn tops for hanging on the stove – my spouse asked me to please not put them on the stove – maybe I can add them to the yard?? ha ha
love the vividness of your photos of the fun outdoor yard art

Brilliant. I must get over to nearby Thirsk soon. They’re big on yarn bombing too.
