Emirates Air Line, London, March 2017

From down to up to down takes about 10 minutes when you’re crossing the Thames by cable car during the day (faster in morning rush hour, and slower after dark).

When did that come into being? It certainly wasn’t there the last time I was in London!

It opened in 2012, just in time for the Olympics. It is down at Greenwich so a lot of people don’t know about it.

It’s a good one to do at the moment as you get a whole carriage to yourself for social distancing 🙂

I know what you mean – I’m still bad with heights but have got used to doing cable cars now.

MrB hates them, which is one of the reasons why I have yet to travel on it!

Ooh, after dark would be fun… though maybe a bit scary! Didn’t even know these existed, Debs! You are my fountain of travel knowledge 🙂 🙂 Have a nice day!

Fascinating. And I moved to Switzerland 53 years ago to see a cable car (not only but it was one of the perks ).
