Regents Canal, London, May 2021

Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally – tweet, instagram, flickr, etc. with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS.

Part of me would like to try this, I think there is a club in Lisbon, just not very keen of falling inside the polluted river.

Maintaining some semblance of floating ‘social distancing’ while staying aboard and upright would definitely be a challenge! I think you were in the best place, Debbie 🙂 🙂

I certainly wouldn’t trust my control of the board to maintain vertical let alone distanced! Firm ground always the best for me 🙂

With temperatures above 38°C these days in my town, I would love to dive into those canals, instead of paddling over them 🙂

Not problem we have here! In fact, staying g on the board won’t keep us dry at the moment as the water is descending from on high!

Sadly trying to don my wetsuit is probably enough exercise, shades of the Michelin Man! Here’s my six words https://alondonmiscellany.wordpress.com/2021/05/08/a-dog-licking-a-cooking-pot/

Hey, Just out of topic question. What does it actually called in the pictures above? Is it Boating or something else, let me know!

It’s paddle boarding or paddleboarding.

It has been popular for a few years, especially on lakes and canals. It’s a different way of doing a tourist tour in some cities, and in London there are people who paddle board to remove floating plastic in the canals. Even Santas enjoy paddle boarding: https://travelwithintent.com/2015/12/19/santas-are-on-board-for-christmas/

what a fabulous way to explore London. Although I would need to sit down and paddle if I was to be brave enough to look around at what I was passing!!

Is nowhere sacred? 🙂 🙂 I’d have to sit down and paddle and I’d still probably fall in. Ugh! 😦 Happy Saturday, Debs!

I am so amazed by folks who can stand canoe! They must have some mighty strong core muscles!

I’ve never tried that, although my brother and sister-in-law enjoy it. My entry’s on the water too but rather different. Happy Saturday!
