Beautiful shots, Debbie 👏 The one of the glasshouse through the trees is stunning; the contrast of the stark white against the autumn colours is brilliant 😃 Thanks for joining in 😁

Our changing world, hey, Debs? Autumn is the gentlest of seasons here. I have no idea how the trees decide when it’s time to rest. I picked some oranges from a neighbours the other day and she said it was too early. They looked ripe to me, and were full of juice.

I think the trees feel just as muddled as me!

Yes, it should all be over now. But it’s all glorious!

The sad thing is the trees won’t get enough rest – with autumn later and spring earlier, we will likely see an impact on their ability to blossom in the coming years. On the last guided walk I did at Kew the woman was talking about this – I had never really appreciated how important it is for the deciduous trees to lose their leaves.

Yes, it’s much like us needing to go to bed at night.

Yes, autumn has been later than ever – not enough cold triggers to get it going.
