  2. Our changing world, hey, Debs? Autumn is the gentlest of seasons here. I have no idea how the trees decide when it’s time to rest. I picked some oranges from a neighbours the other day and she said it was too early. They looked ripe to me, and were full of juice.

    • The sad thing is the trees won’t get enough rest – with autumn later and spring earlier, we will likely see an impact on their ability to blossom in the coming years. On the last guided walk I did at Kew the woman was talking about this – I had never really appreciated how important it is for the deciduous trees to lose their leaves.
