In 2015, Pope Francis extended a temporal privilege through the Papal bull of Indiction, “Misericordiae Vultus”, allowing an ordinary bishop to designate his own Holy Door for the purpose of the “Jubilee Year of Mercy”.  As a result this door at the Roman Catholic Church of St Anselm and St Cecilia in London became holy.

As for the church itself, it might be easy to miss this building as you dart out of Holborn Station and nip along Kingsway, but it has stood there since around 1909, when it was built to replace the Sardinian Embassy Chapel that has been demolished to make way for this busy street.
