and some tree geometry for Becky

The St Albans tree trio at the end of December 2024
and the same trio at the start of January 2025

And if you’re wondering what on earth this has to do with geometry, take a look at Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘Rule of trees’ which states that “all the branches of a tree at every stage of its height are equal in thickness to the trunk when put together.”
Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS. You’ll find me on Instagram @travel_travel_with_intent and @dsmythphoto

What an impressive threesome, Debbie. Happy New Year to you, too!
I had to add a few more words (merely the translation) but I suppose because it’s the first sixer of the year, it’s okay: https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2025/01/04/it-is-not-your-fault-but/

Nice start for 2025. Three trees could be linked to Thursday Trios. Hope you are well and having a wonderful New Year.

I like the trees. I am sure I have seen them before 🤔
Wonder if anyone has proven Leonardo’s theory?
Happy New Year Debbie.

It has been used by many people an for scientific purposes, not just artistic. One use was to work out how much water a tree used but that has now been shown to not be fully accurate.

I saw that water and trees drinking theory. There was a group of people who wanted to remove trees from the riverbanks so they could graze and crop right to the waterways edges and tried to use that as an argument

I find it hard to walk past them (which I do most days) without taking a photo!

🙂 I felt I had to!
It was meant to be on 1 Jan, but I couldn’t find my hard drives which I had put in such a safe place I couldn’t remember where!!! So I’m off to a slow geometric start
