Welcome to One Word Sunday, and over to all of you to join the challenge with your own black image. Blackbirds, blackouts, blackberries … – what will you come up with? Or will you take my route and go black and white?

It’s a shot I would have dared to take in Germany, too – behind a car and through two windows, a stealth shot. The result is great! All those different layers.
With a theme like “black” how could I not: https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2026/04/19/if-it-can-catch-mice-its-a-good-cat/

Yes, you need framing and layers to make street photography work. Plus, I was able to stand under shelter during a heavy storm 🙂

Yes, the framing worked well. Though not open actually, just well washed by the heavy rain

Thanks, Bernie. I took this for the colours, but I think I now prefer it in black and white. (I’ll share the colour version soon 😁 )
