Mosaic benches in Barcelona

The iconic mosaic benches on Passeig de Gracia are both beautiful and practical.  These and the accompanying street lamps were designed by Pere Falqués i Urpí in 1906.  They are entirely in keeping with the surrounding modernist buildings by such architects as Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Domènech i Montaner.  They make a welcome, cool spot to rest during a hard day’s busy sight seeing or shopping.

  1. Barcelona is one of my favourite cities! I love Gaudi’s work, and I believe if I look back through my archives, I have a very similar photo to your second one of the lamp post.

Great entry for Ailsa’s challenge this week. Well done!
