V is for… Victoria Falls

All of these photos were taken from the Zambian side of the falls, apart from the last two which are from the air, in early August 2013.

There is much debate and argument as to which side is better to view from.  The Zambian side is not as forceful, and it dries up in the dry season. Early August was a perfect time to see it from Zambia: plenty of flow but not so much spray that the water and rocks are hidden.

  1. Spectacular photos – took me on a trip down memory lane as we splashed out for my husband’s 30th birthday to stay at the Victoria Falls Hotel (23 years ago!) glad to see this is one of those few places that hasn’t changed that much.

    • Fortunately, it hasn’t been too damaged by tourism. Though the number of boats on the river may have increased – there were an awful lot of them.
