Harness Racing, specifically trotting, is a very popular sport in Sweden. It is a year round event, taking place even at very high latitudes during the winter.
The top Standardbred mile race, known as Elitloppet, is held in late May each year at Solvalla in the suburbs of Stockholm.

Horse racing is a pretty popular sport here too–just finished the Kentucky Derby.
