I think I should have added a note to this – these are the bottles thrown by the runners as they pass a watering station, so it’s not what it looks like. Sorry to worry you all. There were workers on hand to tidy up and hopefully they all went for recycling!
I’ve seen this multiple times as a human being who cares and a photographer. Walking on a trail in the bush and “garbage” in my sight. As Janet said, “Sigh.”
