  1. I knew I’d enjoy your image. I was actually hoping for some “literal” interpretations. I love the brush marks and you’ve captured them beautifully.

    The diagram reminds me of the butchering one in a book my mum had to study during the war in case she needed to slaughter a cowand carve it up for survival. Your image looks a lot more rounded and benign, although I suppose the end point for the cow is the same.

    • Yes, I do eat meat, but best not to think too much about the poor cow! I love the Japanese language and calligraphy – huge admiration for them learning to write the characters!
