I admire this little beauty every time I walk past St Pancras Station – joy, with a touch of jealousy!

A colourful note:  in 1958, Crayola brought out their largest box of crayons so far- 64 colours in a wide box, with a flip top and a fitted pencil sharpener, something they rapidly patented.  Plum was one of the brand new colours for this jumbo range.

Named, rather obviously, after the fruit, the first recorded use uas a color name in English was in 1805.
