Suleimanye Mosque, Istanbul, April 2015
Hex colour Reference: #7442c8
A colourful note: the purple heart crayon was another shade that played a part in 1997 in the True Blue Heroes contest in the US and the Who’s your Hero contest in Canada. It gained its current name in 1998 when the hero names were replaced with permanent names.
Purple heart is the common name for a rainforest tree, Peltogyne, a tree that has incredibly strong wood. Known as heartwood, it is famous for both its strength and its colour: once cut, it turns rapidly from light brown to rich purple.

That was an interesting picture, I would very much like to see more of that Mosque.

I think it was my favourite in Istanbul. Though it’s hard to pick favourites as it’s such a wonderful city.
