A colourful note: sunset orange joined the Crayola collection in 1997 as a dark orange shade.  Sunset’s first recorded use as a colour name in English was in 1916 and, generally, it is a much paler shade of orange than Crayola’s interpretation.  It is looked upon as a representation of the colour of clouds during sunset.
