Cherry Red on Top

Sea faring visitors to Bonifacio face an entrance that resembles a ravine more than a bay. The town’s stunning citadel towers over the harbour, calling all boats to enter the mouth.

The western tip of this challenging route is flagged by the solar-powered Madonetta lighthouse, a fiery guardian accessible from land, but whose grand view is reserved for those at water level.

  1. A really fantastic photo, I love the angle, colours and what a profile. It looks like something between the Sphinx and a hugh ship.
