
New Yorker Hotel, 8th Avenue, New York, February 2017
When I spotted this sign towering over W 34th Street, I assumed it referred to the New Yorker magazine that made its first appearance in February 1925. The one famous for its cartoons and topical front covers. However, this scarlet sign marks a hotel of the same name and with almost as many years of age as the magazine.
